About Alisha

I’m a writer from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and I work in the Pittsburgh area as a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and trauma specialist. I write historical fiction centered on family, queer love, mental health, and the complicated ways people try to understand one another. My stories are rooted in Pennsylvania places and communities, with particular attention to lives too often misunderstood or left out of the record.

My current projects include Everything Meant Something, the first in a five-book series following Judy and Maura across decades of family, illness, love, and change, and Things People Got Wrong, a dual-timeline novel set in the fictional town of Alder Run.

Both my clinical work and my writing are shaped by an interest in memory, survival, belonging, and the stories people carry.
